Some History

Coquitlam has a history rooted in its early days as a hub for the region's Indigenous peoples, particularly the Coast Salish communities. European settlement began in the mid-19th century, with the construction of the Fraser River's North Road in 1858 to link New Westminster with the Burrard Inlet.
